Valletta knows that Reinhart, the boy her father brought home as a slave, will one day awaken as a great mage and massacre the entire barony. Every attempt to escape that fate fails, and Reinhart kills everyone except her. Instead of finishing the story as written, however, the newly freed villain declares that he intends to keep Valletta by his side.
