Cheonhwi, the "Sword Ghost," originally wielded a blade simply to escape starvation, eventually ascending to the realm of a supreme master. But the Central Plains is plunged into absolute ruin by the advent of the "Heavenly Demon"—the strongest warrior of all time and a living catastrophe to the martial world. After Tang Sowol, the "Poison Empress" of the Sichuan Tang Clan, is left completely alone when her entire family is massacred by the Heavenly Demon, Cheonhwi forms a deep bond with her and joins her desperate crusade for vengeance. Yet, their blades never reach the Heavenly Demon, and they meet a tragic end together on the very same battlefield. If only I had a little more talent. If only I had a little more time. If only I had mastered stronger martial arts. At the absolute end of his bitter regrets, Cheonhwi regresses twenty years into the past. Quickly restoring his former martial prowess, the "young boy" Cheonhwi swears that this time, he will protect her no matter the cost. He tracks down Tang Sowol just as she is about to turn twenty and make her grand debut in the martial world—and... He kidnaps her.
