Tamrang, a wandering warrior from the Joseon dynasty, leaves his past behind to become an escort warrior at the declining Ehwa Escort Agency in Tianjin. Under the leadership of Captain Ma, what begins as a grueling 2,300-li escort mission through the treacherous Taihang Mountains to the once-in-a-decade Mount Lu Silk Market quickly thrusts him into the deadly currents of the Jianghu. As the agency transports valuable cargo for the Wang Merchant Guild, Tamrang is drawn into an escalating conflict between orthodox powerhouses like the Paeng Clan and Mount Hua Sect, mountain outlaws of the Green Forest, and the terrifying Sun Moon Divine Cult. At the same time, Imperial forces—including the Ming dynasty's dreaded Eastern Depot and high traitors like former Guerrilla General Gu Liang—begin closing in. Hunted by elite assassins known as the Blood Plum Blossoms and Blood Shadows wearing black robes embroidered with blood-red flowers, Tamrang must unleash his true martial prowess. Rejecting the rigid rules of both the orthodox sects and the demonic underworld, he cuts his own path to become the realm's most formidable misfit.
