A useless piece of trash who can only use Barrier Magic has no place in this party. Rikuto Guardman—you’re fired!” Rikuto, a Court Mage, joined the Crown Prince’s dungeon expedition to support the Hero-class royal on his conquest. Yet because of the prince’s baseless prejudice, Rikuto is suddenly stripped of his title… and sentenced to exile from the very kingdom he once protected. The only one who stands by him is Flare—his childhood friend from the same orphanage. “If you’re leaving the country, then I’m going with you.” For Rikuto, it was supposed to be the start of a quiet, peaceful journey with the girl he had loved for years. A fresh beginning far from betrayal and court politics. But the world isn’t so quick to let go of the strongest barrier mage—the man who single-handedly upheld an entire nation’s defenses. As for the Crown Prince? The moment the supreme barrier Rikuto cast upon him begins to unravel, his power crumbles… and his downfall follows. Now you want me back? Even if you kneel and beg, I have no intention of returning.
